I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota, (V8 and manual transmission... don't know if that should matter) I also have an Alpine NVE-851 Navigation unit I am trying to install into my Dakota. My difficulty is coming in where I am trying to make the connection to my VSS wire. I have no idea where it is located. I have been to Rostra's website, it says that it is the black connector on the computer ( I assume they are talking about the ECU or ECM) in the engine compartment, passenger side, pin 13... yadda yadda... what it boils down to is after hours of searching, I finally found it and there is no pin 13. I talked to Crutchfield and they said I need some $40 module that acts as a 'vehicle speed sensor,' but that doesn't seem right to me. Has anyone else had any success in find the VSS wire in the 2006 Dodge Dakota? Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
