These speakers are said to run at 2 ohm and I'm told a HU isn't supposed to run at 2 ohms though Crutchfield's advertisement claim it adds additional volume and punch to their sound without warning of potential damage.

no one uses HU's to push comps these days man.. use a amp instead .. but what Hu is it eitherway ?

These speakes aren't components they are just rated 2 ohms.

you have a point. There should be a warning.

But they'd probably rather just sell them and hope the average HU user doesn't crank it all the time and the internal amp survives even though they're not designed to power 2 ohm loads.
