I read about how the rear speakers are more of a handicap than a help when using a quality set of front speakers and a subwoofer...So can you combine an aftermarket HU or buy one that can combine it's 22 rms to make 44 rms per channel for the font speakers?

no, ohm load can only hanlde 4 ohms,
