What are the advantages of running one amp that is, lets say, 1500 wrms (ran to each sub, 2 in all, in a 1 ohm load) vs. two that are 750 w rms (one amp to each sub, in a 2 ohm load). Are there advantages/disadvantages? Does that question even make sense? |

makes sense but i really prefer running one amp than two. First thing is if you don't know how to set the gain and all those stuffs, you can f*ck subs hehe. The second thing is that you're going to spend more money buying 2 amps instead of one, for example: 1 Soundstream PCA 2000D- 400$ 2 Soundstream PCA 1000D- 300x2=600$ Third, you're going to spend more on wires, plus the extra work you're going to do installing them. The good thing about running 2 amps is that they might run cooler, if one is clipping, you still have the other hehe... That's just my opinion, but a lot of people run 4 amps to 4 subs.. |

Well I need a amp that will do around 1500w rms at one ohm or 2 that will do 750w rms at 2 ohms. Well the Kicker sx1250 does just under 1500 for 450 + or I can get two zx750's for just over 400 and running wiring wouldnt be too much harder. Also the 750 would probably be putting out 800-850 rms. Just wondering. Any other opinions? |

got hold of alpine and they said as long as the magnet isn't damaged it wont hurt them, but still let me know. and for the sundown, you have to pay the msrp, they only sell thru the dealers on the site. or you can check ebay or their forum for someone selling one used. |

CTMIKE, Like a week ago I came across Sundown amps (audiojunkies.com), man I am surprised that you know about them. Looks like they are very underrated because their 2ch 2x100 amp has maximum rated RMS power as 400Wx1@4ohm bridged, however it's got 3x20amp fuses??? Soungs like it could do more than 1x400? And how about the Zed Audio, are those guys really good? Thank you! |

That is another reason I wouldnt mind doing one amp for each sub. When I make an amp rack I can do ::sub amp::comp amp::sub amp:: and it would look better |

Wow Polo. I love those SX series amps. Man I'm jelous. I'll bet that will sound awesome!! What are your plans for the charging system? I had Iraqqi make me a double pulley so that I could run two alternators. You will have twice the amp I have. Your gonna need MAD power. |
