zahid iqbal, what's your email address? Marlon Esq, Your siren should activate during PANIC reguardless of silent mode. Hence the term "Panic." Your siren driver is probably defective. |

I need help with the Clifford Matrix RS3 Programming. We had to disable the alarm because I dropped the remote and it fell out of programming. We're trying to re-program it (standard configuration) but I must be missing something. We turned the car to ON, then pressed the Valet button once and it chirped once. Then we pressed the buttons on the remote but nothing happens! HELP! |

Sahar Higgs, Here's a link to the installation guide for the Matrix RS3: http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/clifford/N909554_2-03.pdf On page 30 and 31, it walks you through the transmitter learning process. There is more to it than what you described. Simply put: Open a door, turn the key on, push the valet switch 9 times HOLDING ON THE 9TH PUSH, the system will chirp 8 times and the LED will flash, while CONTINUING TO HOLD the valet switch, press the arm/disarm button on the remote, the system will chirp, release the valet switch and turn the key off. |

Thanks for the link Skater Bum!!!! I have a similar issue with the IG8000,,, it is a used system, and I am trying to get into the programming mode, but I only have the unit on my bench until I can verify functionality. I have tried all things I can think of, but I cannot get it to enter programming. So far, I have only tried turning key on, enter pin code, then hold the * for 10 seconds. I see on the RS3 system, you mentioned opening a door,,, do I need to open and close a door sensor as well before it will let me in to program it? I ordered my Cliffnet cable, but I don't have it just yet, but I may have to wait for it to get here... Thanks in advance for any assistance! |

Kenneth Leake, No, you do not have to open a door with the IG8000. Since the unit is used, the previous owner might have changed the valet code from the default. If this is the case, then you WILL need the CliffNet cable inorder to program the system. |

Ricky Grasso, Did you program the Smartwindows 4 with the windows down or up? You have to start with them in the down position first. When PK unzip opens try unzipping it to a directory on the desktop and then manually running the shell.exe from that folder. I also believe XP Pro is required but don't quote me on that as I am not 100% sure. |

Skater Bum, thanks for all of your help so far... I installed my IG8000 system over the weekend and all is working great, but I do have a couple of questions you may be able to answer better than my local dealer. 1. I have the dual zone proximity sensor, but does the main unit have any tilt or shock sensor in it? I have read that it does, but wanted to know for sure. 2. What is the difference in the proximity, omni, peizo and radar sensors, and is one better than the others? 3. Should my local dealer transfer a warranty into my name? They said they wouldn't because the IG8000 isn't sold any more, but if it has a lifetime warranty, I would think they should? He even said that if he had sold it to me in the first place, that he couldn't honor it because clifford is now owned by DEI.. Thanks in advance for your help, so far I love this system! |

Mischa Boomstra, I have heard that XP Pro is a requirment. Don't quote me as I am not 100% sure. You may also want to try and unzip the package to a manually created folder on the desktop. Once the package has been unzipped run the Shell.exe manually. Give that a shot and I hope it helps. Michel, You need the Cliffnet Wizard Pro software. Skater Bum has posted a link you can download it from. The link can be found 8 posts above this one. Hurry I belive you only have a fe days left. Ricky |

Is there a part of the installation books that have door trigger/parking light hookups? My manual says I can set up my IG8000 to remind me if I leave my lights on, but I can't find any information on how to hook it up? Thanks! |

OK, I'M BACK FROM MY WEEK-LONG VACATION AND YOU GUYS FLOODED MY EMAIL BOX! BUT HERE GOES: mischa boomstra, check your email! CliffNet Wizard Pro should work on Win95, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP Pro and XP Home. Here's a link to the CliffNet Wizard Pro Version 2.20: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=1A0A0094103FD472 black-n-blue, 1. Your system only has a dual zone proximity sensor with it. You can add a digital tilt sensor or a Omni sensor but they are optional units that do not come with the unit. 2. The differences in sensors are: proxity is an invisible field that protects your car using radar. Omni sensor is a digital shock sensor. Peizo is a mechanical shock sensor and, radar sensor is basically the same as the proximity sensor. The best ones to have are the dual zone proximty and omni sensors. 3. As for the warranty, you're kinda screwed. Since Clifford got bought out by DEI, they only bought Clifford's assets and not the liabilty. They will, however, upgrade you to a new unit if you give them your old system and about $75 - $100 at their disgression. I just upgraded my friend's Avantguard 4 to an Avantguard 5 and it cost me the AG4 unit and $120. 4. As for the door trigger and parking lights what do you need to know? The parking light reminder should be automatic. What happens is when you turn the engine off and the parking lights are still on, the siren will chirp once to let you know that you left them on, that's it. Michel, here's a link to the installation guide for the Avantguard 4: http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/clifford/avantguard4_install.pdf phil eames, Here's a link to the Concept 300 Holland: http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/clifford/concept300hol_install.pdf Han Solo, check your email! |

hi, I'm new to this board. I just bought a 1995 Toyota 4Runner and it came with a Clifford alarm system. The previous owner did not have any information on it and he gave me 2 battery operated fobs. I don't even know the model number. What can I do to find out what the model number is? I eventually want to be able to use the valet feature, but I don't know where to start. Any help would be great. Thanks, Troy |

Troy, start by crawling under the driver's side of the dash. You are looking for a black plastic box roughly about 5" square. It should look out of place and have a bunch of wires coming out of the sides of it. The model number should be molded into the plastic or painted on the top of the unit. Once you have the model number/name I can help you out further. |

Skater Bum, I just emailed you with a pic of the Clifford alarm that is installed in my 95 4Runner. I'm hoping that I can get a manual for the alarm and some pointers on how to get more fobs with the code. I'm hoping that the previous owner left the default code intact. Thanks, Troy Here's what I have: MODEL: Clifford, Polaris 2 with a magnetic resonance sensor NUMBERS: PQC6020H5DC 60-077-G AX 2255DC 50-077 03635 03636

Troy C, I've got the wiring diagram for the Polaris II but that's all I can find. It's such an old unit you're probably better off replacing the whole system. zac daho, did I ever send you that information for the Arrow II? |

Thanks Skater Bum. If I take it to an installer to have them replace the unit, will they need to take everything out, or can they just "pop" a new unit in place of the old one, leaving all the wires intact? Also, could you email me the wiring diagram to: troy65@shaw.ca Thanks, Troy |

Thanks Skaterbum,,, I noticed once in a while it chirped when I turn the key off, but wasn't exactly sure why as it only did it once or twice... Now that you mention this, it was at night and I was probably reaching for the lights at the same time I was turning it off. I have a peizo sensor I haven't hooked up yet, but could use, and another unmarked radar type sensor. I'm thinking of buying a dual zone peizo or omni sensor to add instead of the single zone peizo that I have. I don't think I need the second radar type sensor as I finally have my proximity working perfectly. I'll probably run with this system till it dies as I'm pretty happy with it, but it's good to know they should upgrade me for little money. I am assuming the IG 850 would be the best replacement if I did go that route.... Thanks again for all of your help!!! |

Lucy Palmer, this could be one of two things. 1. Your siren has water damage or 2. Your alarm system is telling you that your remote control batteries are getting low. Check your Owner's Manual to be sure. If your siren starts chriping normally in the next couple of days, it's more than likely the first problem. If it continues to remain quiet, try replacing the battery in your remote control and see if that takes care of the problem. |

Skater Bum, Thanks for sending the wiring diagrams of the Clifford Polaris II to me. Question: I would like to disconnect the trigger for the doors. Can I just cut the wire or disconnect it from the computer? TIA, Troy |
