So here I am, STILL wondering which good 10" subs to get, here is what I asked on the DD forum: What is the recomened space need for these subs in a SEALED box? How much do they cost?

Thanks
HERE are what people have replied:
1.Around 1 cube, but they dont perform well in sealed. If you can get 1 cube then add a port(unless you really want sealed) You will over double the output of the subwoofers.
2.I have 2 off the 1010 running and they do so much better in a ported box than a sealed one.

I have both off them running on 500w rms but they can take so much more so i am waiting for the new amp's so i can put a M1A on both off them.

I have a few box sizes but they are in cm or liters

1: 1 box for 2 sub's 60 liters with a port off 5cm x 25cm x 45cm

2:2 boxes both 30 liter port sizes 3cm x 25cm 70cm you can al so change the port to:

- 2,5cm x 30cm x 70cm
- 2 cm x 37,5 cm x 70cm

The boxes are excl wood so incl you will get about 45liter
3.it sounds like crap don't put it in a sealed box...if ur gonna put it in that then u mite as well get some other brand like kicker or something. dont put a dd in there

Theres more, but you get the idea! 1 cu. ft is WAY TOO MUCH for 10's. So is this TRUE, that they dont sound good in a SEALED box?
HERE is what I am looking for, 2 10" subs, 350-400WRMS each, sound good in a sealed box, single 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm.

1 cubic foot is not to much for a sealed 10.

my 10 is in almost 2 cubes ported.

i replied in that thread as well.:-) - J.T.2510

Nick@SickAudio posted something earlier about testing one in a sealed enc. from your inquiry. said it sounded awesome and Wanged.:-)

they are def. some of the cleanest drivers i have ever heard. and extremely accurate. they are very efficient so they get pretty loud for the amount of power in them.

dude, image dynamics is one of the best subwoofer companies when it comes to SQ subs.

their lower line may not get as loud, but it is still a subwoofer that takes 3-400wRMS and has at least 14mm of xmax.:-)
