if you're getting the Peerless components from madisound that come as a set they aren't as good as buying the seperate IIRC XLS or CSX drivers..i haven't dealt with that in a long time and can't remember the model. I didn't like the tweet and got the LPG one instead. |

my friend is selling me peerless R5 seperates... is this any good? price is $170-$190... what would be best with my $$$? is there something cheaper but with good SQ? something real nice...

only ones i've heard were the Definition 5 from Madisound, they were pretty good for the money but not what I expected. The 8305xx drivers are the ones I was more used to and like them. |

Peerless drivers are not something to write to mom about.
They make good subs for home audio, but the rest of their line is just mediocre stuff. They are really low efficiency and kinda old fashioned. They may be ok for small projects, but not for showcase.
