Hey guys, i just picked up an alpine 9853, and i'm playing around with the eq and x-overs, but honestly have no idea. what should i set the x-overs and 5-band equalizer at in order to get the best sound for rap. right now i'm using factory speakers, and have to alpine type-R 12s on the way. thanks in advance

Just do the 5 band in the classic 'V' shape and you should be good lol

The way the equalizer knobs are adjusted. The bass knobs being the highest and treble knobs at the highest with the mid frequency knobs down low-making a V shape. It won't be in knobs on your head unit, but more likely bars.

I wish I could explain it better, heh, I know how difficult it is to read some of those Alpine manuals.

yea, i'm playing around with the i-personalize thing on the alpine website... but i think i know what you mean by the v-shape now, thanks. how about the built in crossover... anything i should know about that??
