Thread: Help! what's a good amp with around 300W x 1 at 2 ohms |

i'm buying infitity referecnce 12'' and lookin for a good amp. i could get an mtx but with only 250W RMS, do i really want to underpower it?

no. profile isnt very good
wuts the rms on that sub? 300? because putting 250 into it wouldnt underpower it really |

bassman, the profile is nice, 500x1 at 2 ohms, it will put at least 300w, don't you think. They're a good budget brand, you can't get better for the price. Go for it Luke, infinity doesn't needs a lot of power to pound. |

luke, if you interested in the pg i have a couple i'm selling so depending on were you live i could do that price, maybe better. i just wont go to low, love those amps |

thx for the replies! i found this also http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uYXn7WZ8oYP/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=489AP1200 another profile only it's not mono and it can put 300W RMS into each sub, exactly what they need. another one i found i think i might go with it http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductList.aspx?CategoryID=1&Manufactur erID=650, Phoenix Gold R8.0:1, it's a mono class d, and puts out 300W RMS to each sub. i can get it for $185 from sonicelectronix, is that a decent one? looks like it's gotten good reviews, i don't want to go over $200 for the amp tho. |

that xenon is sweet, only would put out 200W RMS tho compared to the 300 for Pheonix R8, the xenon 600 puts out 300W but it's more money.

AHHHHHH, that PG R8 is over 200 i forgot the s & h. i've been researchin this stuff for days and i wanna get it ordered in the next couple of hrs. i found the PG 600 on ebay for 200. and you gave me the link with the 400 for 150 but then i look at all those negatives the seller has lol, how do u kno if those aren't refurbished :S. and they don't come with a warranty like other sites >.< gah my brain is gonna explode. ok i wanna get one of those PG's but it'll prolly have to be off ebay. so should i take a chance with ebay or go with a profile that has a 3 yr warranty, what's ur guys experience with those powersellers that have like 500 negative feedback. |

get on ebay if u can buy from there and look at the profile amps online. they are tons cheaper. and the one store offering them gives u a 6 month warranty. |

Profile makes a solid amp for the price. Defects aren't that common, and according to a few tests I've seen they come within about 20% of rated power - 500w amps tend to test around 400. Check out the prices at millionbuy.com. The ap1200, for example is $109 plus shipping, should be about $125 shipped, but for what you want you'd probably be better of with the ap1000m. $100 plus shipping and should give you 400w+ at 2 ohms |
