I've had this for just over a year and recently the lighting (mostly the text lighting) is either really faded or not working at all so I can't read anything on the display. I tried rewiring it but that didn't make a difference. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, I asked some people I know about the problem and they all said pretty much the faceplate had gone bad. So, I let it go and got a new HU. Which isn't that bad cuz unlike the old one this one's MP3 capable and Ipod ready so it wasn't a bad thing at all.
