Is it okay to hook up the remote wire directly to the battery with an on off switch inside the car to turn off and on both my amps? the remote wire is cut way too short so I can use it. I dont mide clicking off and on the amps either. Dont want to cause a fire. Thanks.

yes its ok to use a switch, but not very necessary. You can get remote behind the radio and run it from there rather than the battery without a switch. If your remote wire is short get a new one, it is just 18awg wire and it only needs to carry a small amount of power to tell the amp to turn on. Hook it up to ignition, or remote turn on (blue and white on an aftermarket deck).
