Hi, I sure need some help. I'm wiring an aftermarket stereo for an '86 toyota camry. None of the stores around here have the wiring adapter kit for this car, and I've found nothing on the internet that has the same color wires that I do. I'll give you a list of the colors and if you could help me, that'd be great. I've figured out some, but others I am not sure at all.
yellow - battery/memory
red - ignition/accessory
black - ground
white - ??
blue + yellow stripe + brown spots - ??
light green - front right spkr +
blue - front right spkr -
pink - front left spkr +
purple - front left spkr -
pink + blue stripe + red spots - ??
brown + black spots - ??
grey + red spots - ??
blue + red spots - ??
I know one of the first two is for antenna power, but I don't know which one, and there is no wire on my aftermarket radio for the fifth one!! and all the wires that have the ?? beside them, I cannot find any guide for this car that has those colors!! All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, NYPD-LAPD!!! |

There is 2 plugs on my factory 99 echo head unit.One have 4 cables and the other one have 8 cables attached. This does not include the rear speaker cables.
Both plugs have blue, pink, violet and light green cables. I do not know what the Do you know where I can find the wiring diagram or instruction. The after market cables have totally different colours to the factory head unit cables. |

I bought the wiring clips (harness adapter or whatever) for the camry and none of the main colors (the red-power, yellow-battery, black-ground, blue antenna wire) none of them are the same on the harness from my car and the harness that I bought.

Can someone please help me with a wiring diagram for an '05 Pontiac Grand Am? I have honestly looked all over, the problem I have is that my colors do not match up. Could my harness have funky wires? Is there a way to wire this by pins instead of colors? Here are the colors I have:
Black -I know what that is
Yellow - I know what that is
Red
Orange
Orange/White
Blue/White
Grey
Grey/Black
Green
Green/Black
White
White/Black
Purple
Purple/Black

heather, if you have the aftermarket harness, it just plugs into the factory harness and the radio wires tie into the other end of harness. Almost all aftermarket harness match up to radio colors.... not necessarily the car colors. |

i have a 2000 dodge stratus and a clarion head unit. i have hooked up all of the wires like i am supposed to and now the radio works great off all the speakers but when i put a cd in it only runs off the tweeters not any of the other speakers... help??? |

if your putting in an aftermarket radio, just buy the aftermarket harness for it and good luck I see no dash kits available for that cr. i can not find a current wiring diagram for that car... |

I recently purchased a used Mitsubishi Mirage DE from a used car dealer, and I came to find out a disturbing fact.
the cd deck that is in the center tower in the dash doesn't work(not so disturbing), upon further inspection, the deck was not connected at all to the wires inside!(disturbing! :-O ) someone might have taken out a good deck and put this low end aiwa deck in.
well, whatever the case, I wasn't planning on using that deck anyways :P
I need to get my pioneer deck from my old toyata tercel into my 2000 mitsubishi mirage, but whoever ripped the deck out of this mirage didn't do so with care, the wires aren't capped or taped closed, and no wiring harness at all. the wires are pretty short too. I see the normal set of 4 power type wires
red yellow black blue
and then there's a group of 8 wires that are presumeably for the speakers
(not sure of the colors right now, I can find out by going back out to my car, a lot of orange or brown colors it seemed, and there were 2 that were connected and taped together, yellow and green, i believe. what would be up with that?
so if someone could help me out with telling me the speaker colors that this 2000 mitsubishi mirage should have, that would be most helpful. |
