Hey everybody. This seems like a good site and I have gotten good wiring info already from some of the posts. I just got a 95 civic lx. It had the alpine in it. Problem is, it won't hold presents, or won't read cd's. I've taken it out of the dash and have a few questions about the wiring: 1988-91 Honda Civic Stereo Information Constant 12V+ Blue/White Switched 12V+ Yellow/Red Ground Black Illumination Red/Black Dimmer n/a Antenna Driver's Pillar Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors Left Front (+) Blue/Green Left Front (-) Gray/Black Right Front (+) Red/Green Right Front (-) Brown/Black Rear Speakers 6 1/2" Rear Deck Left Rear (+) Blue/Yellow Left Rear (-) Gray/White Right Rear (+) Red/Yellow Right Rear (-) Brown/White Thanks to, ty mutlow, for this list. Comparing this diagram to mine, it seems to match. My problem is how everything connects to the unit. Speakers are connected right. However the labeling is not very specific on the power stuff. It says yellow for battery and red for accessory, on the bottom of the unit. So does that mean red should be connected with the constant, or what? Also, what is the exact function of the illumination wire? which wasn't hooked anywhere when I took the head out. Sorry, I don't have alot of experience with car stereo's. Any help is appreciated! |

first problem i see is that you say you have a 95 model, but your wireing info is for a 88 to 91 model..... |

Yeah, I know the difference. I just couldn't find any newer civic diagrams. The 92-95 civic is suppose to be the same, so I figured the 88-91 would be close. As far as I can tell, all of the color codes match perfectly. They do for the speakers anyway. |

if it does not read discs, it has nothing to do with wiring, it is the unit, here is the 95 wiring anyway 1995 Honda Civic Stereo Information Constant 12V+ Blue/White Switched 12V+ Yellow/Red Ground Black Illumination Red/Black Dimmer n/a Antenna Driver's Pillar Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors Left Front (+) Blue/Green Left Front (-) Gray/Black Right Front (+) Red/Green Right Front (-) Brown/Black Rear Speakers 5 1/4" Rear Deck Left Rear (+) Blue/Yellow Left Rear (-) Gray/White Right Rear (+) Red/Yellow Right Rear (-) Brown/White • Alarm Information • Cruise Information

I figured so on the cd part. I'm still wondering about the presets though. |
