i want to hook up to amps two one sub. The sub has dual voice coils, so i want to run one amp two each voice coil, and the amps are identical. What are the risks of doing this and is there any information i need to know about 2 amps to one sub? |

You can do it, but your gains have to be EXACTLY the same on each amp, along with any other controls on the amp. If one amp is off, you could cause voice coil damage, but i've seen it done before. It's really only reccomended if your amps are cabable of amp strapping. If you can, i'd sell the amps and upgrade to just one amp. |

You can do it if you gain match them. Even if they're not strappable, it's okay if they are gain matched. Hell I run a strapped pair per coil (2 strapped pair per sub) and most big competitors do also...just make sure you gain match them and you'll be fine.
