I have a friend who wants to sell me a xtant a6001 for my JL 10w6 i am getting. Is this a good deal?

From what i figured (i'm new to this), the sub can handle 300w rms at 4 ohm (Dual 4 ohm - the sub)and the amp says it puts out that number.... But as i am looking at the Jl wiring diagram... it shows i can only hook the sub up at 8 ohm or 2 ohm... so if i hooked it up as 8 i would barely have any power and if i hooked it up at 2, i would have way to much... Am I right?? i am really confused...

run it at 2ohm and adjust the gain, depending on what voltage it is rated at, prob more then stock system...
