I have a 550 Watt amp, and im going to get a 600W RMS subwoofer driver. Both at 8 ohms.

The amp has clip indicators to help with protection.

Does anyone see a problem with this setup? I figure with the two nearly rated the same power, i cant blow the driver, only run the amp into distortion, but the clip indicators should prevent that.

thoughts?

thanks to all who reply.

The amp has clip indicators, but not necessarily clip protection.
That setup is fine.
