I have these subs and with a 400watt alpine class d amp they seen to get really loud. I know that i'll problably get laughed out of the forum, but are these subs good for producing hi db? i know that the subs alone arent very good but with the box polk specially made for them do they have a chance? im talking in the 140-145dB range and with the right amp.

you mean the loaded box that polk makes?

no.

take the subs out of that prebuilt box and build a ported box tuned to peak at your vehicle's resonance freqency...then give them ~800w-1000w for a burp.

yea..i could see 140-143 out of them. BUT NOT IN A DAILY DRIVER BOX TUNED LOW W/ 400W. You would have to go w/ an SPL box...it would not ba a box for daily use. (also, this would all depend on the type of vehicle...an honda CRX would be very easy to get to 143+dB)
