best thing to do is go listen to them yourself.

i've heard the Kappas and they were ok. i've heard the Reference models can be a little smoother then the Kappas which can be kinda harsh.

depends on what you like best.

Ive got Kappas and they are somewhat more clear than reference but the main thing is they get so damn loud.
