I just installed new polk audio speakers in my doors, and they start to clip when the volume is around 24, the maximum volume is around 35 or so.

That's pretty normal... 75% of maximum volume is usually where most HUs start clipping... maybe you just never noticed it before if your old speakers weren't as detailed?

Edit on that, they start clipping at 21 and the max is 35. I just switched from an Alpine TDM 7574 headunit w/ cd changer, which I know didnt clip the speakers AT ALL, to an Alpine CDM 7857.
