i have clifford's intelliguard 8000 alarm system in my car and im having a problem with the remote. i have changed the batteries multiple times thinking they were the problem to no avail. The remote only works about 70% of the time when i try to arm/disarm the alarm. when the alarm is armed i am forced to unlock the car manually and use the keypad to while the siren is going off. i have heard that this might be a common problem with the 8000. any info would be great.

it also could be where your ant is located. try to put that in a new place. and if its not that get a new remote altogether. im sure if you called DEI you could find out where to get a new remote. programming that is simple.

i dont think a new remote would help. i have two remotes already and both do the same thing.
i believe the antenna is fine as well. last night i tried to disarm the alarm and the remote wouldnt work so i just left it armed. i went out this morning i disarmed it without any trouble.
