Thread: 99 ford escort faceplate removal |

Can anyone tell me how to remove the faceplate on the headunit from a 99 ford escort. There are two holes on each end of it and im trying to do it w/out the "magic tool" that i hear about |

The two holes are meant to remove the whole stereo, the faceplate is not detachable. My best suggestion if you can't afford the $15 for the tools is to use coathangers. Another way to do it is to shove a flathead screwdriver in on each side of the head unit, push them outward, and pull it out. |

im looking into buying my first car and not wanting to go into great debt, i found a (so they tell me) good car..its a 99 ford escort ZX2..when i take it off the lot the final price will be $2500.00..i have looked at the reviews and i think im getting a pretty good deal...the car rides well and there is notihing majorly wrong with the car..it has passed inspection which i took to a privately owned garage to have done..just wondering if anyone had any tips about this make of car ..as im new a this. |

I just but my tools at Walmart for $4. Now, I cant get my deck out far enough to get the cables off. Anyone know out to that? How can I get to the wires in a 1999 Escort? |
