after you got your ho alt installed your voltage never drops below 14v even at idle right?

also was nate able to build you an alt real fast. cause he told me he was working on my kinda alt to see what he can do. this waiting is frustrating cause i saw my voltage drop to 12.5v at high volume. i know my subs and my amp can handle higher volume but i am afraid the voltage will drop below 11. i got the jl amp so it will put out its rms watts at 11.5-14v but if i really crank it up i have a feeling it will drop below 11v. i got 2 jl1000/1 powering 2 type xs on a stock 105a alt with a yellow top. i need help fast. lol.

No, at idle, most HO alts produce very little. However, nates alternators turn on relatively low, like at 800-900 RPM, and work wonders. :-)

chad runing those 2 1000ds I would add a second battery, to stable the voltage.
the alternator will also see that extra load, and kick-on alot earlier too.
it all depends on how he made your alternator.
if its in a large case, it can cut on at alot lower RPM and keep alot cooler.
My car idles at 1rpm with large case and 2 batteries.
make sure your wires are 0ga atleast.

sean nate hasn't quoted me any price yet cause he is seeing what he can do with my alt type. i am still waiting for his reply. he should get back to me by monday. i did check this place called highoutputalternator.com and they quoted me $575 on a 200a alternator. i thought that was kinda high considering how much people paid nate for their atlernators.

that is a ridiculous price, damn
that thing better to 500amps at idle...

When I was looking, I considered all.
Nathan was my choice. he does great work...
I recomend him to everyone. Plus he has warranty also.

200a for that Accord Chad?
that should be sweet....

yea like you said B an extra battery should do fine along with the ho alt. i am gonna change my box to sealed cause it sounds better and plus that gives me room in the trunk to mount another yellow top. hopefully nate gets back to me fast.

btw did you install the alt yourself. i found a local place that will upgrade the big 3 for me for $75. i figure i can also get the alt installed there too when it comes. i was thinking of offering them $100 for labor for upgrading the big 3 and installing the alt.

man, I would do it myself.
I installed my HO alternator in 10 minutes!!
Thats because its mounted on the top of my drivebelt system.
So if your is at the bottom, I would add another 5-10mins.

But I installed my HO in 10mins
Wireing the big 3 took about 10mins
I had to crimp the circular rings to the 0ga wire with locking birdbeak pliers.

Im an engineer so this was like a lab excercise for me.

B what is a stator. this is what nate said in the last email i got from him.

"I am still trying to work on the stators for them. It has been pretty busy lately so I am doing it as I get the extra time."

Stator is simply just a winding. It helps your output voltage. Just wire winding inside. Read more here:
