I was seriously debating going with a IDmax 12 in my new system in my truck over the ava 12 I was planning on running. I am going to be removing the center seat up front and building an enclosure with a 12 downfiring and ported firing toward the dash. I can get about 2-2.5cu ft. what do you think I should do size wise and tuned to? I am going to be running it either with my orion hcca 250g4 @ 1ohm 800 watts or my ppi a600 at 4ohms with 600. what do you think?

1. 2.5 net tuned to 25hz
2. 2.25 tuned to 28hz
3. 2 net tuned to 30

Any smaller or higher tuned than that and I'd start thinking about sealed. It'll be kinda tough to fit it in a center console, but it's doable.

VB=2 CF (red).....= BOX SIZE
FB=24.19 Hz.......= PORT TUNING FREQUENCY
QL=6.591..........= BOX LEAKEAGE LOSSES
F3=30.82 Hz.......= FREQUENCY CUTOFF 3DB BELOW PAR
DV=3".............= PORT DIAMETER
LV=13.93".........= PORT LENGTH

2.0 cubic feet is the net volume. You must add for the port and driver displacement.

3" X 13.93" port displaces the volume by .0669 cubic feet. The driver displaces the volume by .12 cubic feet. So make the box 2.1869 cubic feet or 61.93 liters.

If you are looking for a total 2 cubic feet interior volume then consider this;

VB=1.809 CF* / 51.23 Liters
Total volume = 2 CF* / 56.63 Liters
FB=24.83 Hz
QL=6.591
F3=31.98 Hz
DV=3"
LV=14.76"
