I am looking at getting a cap for competitions as my car cannot be running. (street B) I know caps do not help with dimming lights...you need upgraded battery and alt , however, if the engine is off is a cap reccomended?....it's a 2000 rms amp thanks! |

With engine off, upgraded alternator won't help. Yellowtop and upgraded stock wires however will help. I'd run 2gauge - 0gauge ground wire directly to the amp. The car's chassis won't be able to supply the needed current. The cap can be useful for filtering power spikes. |

Thats what the cap is for. Its so you dont drain your battery. It does stop the head lights from dimming. |
