well after getting my last system stolen i decided to put a smaller scale system in my SUV this weekend. Head unit installed fine, but i am having amp issues. The first amp i got went into protection mode when i turned it up even a little bit and so i took it back for a little more high powered one. The other amp will not come on. I was getting full power to the first amp now when i hooked the multimeter up to it i am getting a reading of 5 volts or so. wondering if it is a wiring or a amp problem and how i can fix it. Any help is apprechiated.

Check on wire right after the fuse under hood for a reading.
