ok, so my new passat has some extremly weird wiring going on behind the dash. There was am aftemarket pioneer CD player in there, i took it out to install my alpine. Seems Volkswagen only uses the positive wire from all four speakers, then the speakers are seemingly grounded to the headunit in some other way (or to the car?) But i had to simply tape off all the negative wires for all 4 speakers coming from the headunit and the speakers still work this way...im baffled. it sounds like crap, but this is the only option the existing harness gave me to wire. (not to mention off color codes and mixed match wires) Has anybody heard of this kind of wiring? Its possible that there is already a factory installed amp in the car, which would explain the absence of the negative speaker wires. Its just weird to me.
