hey, i currently have a JVC kd-sx780 in my car right now. I am not at all happy with the volume it produces. It is pretty boomy down low but has little to no bass at higher volumes. It doesnt have a subwoofer control either. I just seen a good deal on a new alpine CDE-9841 and was wondering if anybody's had experience? My deck is 19Watts rms x4 the alpine is 16 watts RMS x4...both decks have 2.0V pre-outs. Alpine has sub control, mine does not. Mine is a flip down face with remote, alpine is not.

You can see im in a bind.....
Does the alpine bass center/frequency control do alot for the sound? Do you think it will be better then the JVC?

My set up is alpine type S coaxials in front stock 5x7's in the rear. I have an ORION cobalt 10" sub in a ported box with a pioneer amp (gm 300t) giving it 150 watts RMS....Go alpine or keep my unit?

The Alpine will definitely sound better.

One reason for the poor bass at high volume levels is that you might have 'Loudness' turned on?
