kenwood amps are lousy
legacy anything scares me.
Pioneer is a good choice.
the capacitor isn't going to help much except to smooth and increase transient response.
it won't replace the need for an adequate charging system in the car though.
you may end up needing to upgrade the alternator or battery or both as well.

First of all, radio ok, prefer the 770mp(4vlt preouts)and looks sharper, glass is right about the cap, you may want a BATCAP or KINETIK battery, but really doubt it for a Kenwood Amp(not much current draw), there are difference in amp kits(strands in wire) buy a good brand, rca's, and depending on the subs you have should determine box and amp to use. If cheap subs, probably use slot ported box, you can use less power to drive them.

that amp will draw about 100A of current at full output.
worth considering charging system upgrades. My point is just that the capacitor isn't a replacement for a larger alternator and a deep cycle battery.
the battery helps when the car is off.
the alternator supplies the current when the car is running.
www.knukonceptz.com for wiring kits.. cheap, good quality.. all ya need

a cap is a means to store power so when you hit a deep bass note, the voltage rails don't sag b/c the cap discharges all of the power it stores up.

if your charging system isn't sufficient enough to supply power to the amps, then it won't have enough power to charge the cap b/c it will always be trying to keep up. a cap just masks the symtpoms of a lacking charging system, and can actually make matters much worse.

if you do not play your system loud everyday, which almost no one does that buys one, then you will be okay, but if your alternator is constantly having to strain to put out its maximum amps, it will burn out very quickly and you will have to replace it and your battery and quite possibly all of your car's wiring.

no, when you go to Best Buy, they will not tell you you need to get an alt b/c they want you to spend as much money in their store as possible, and none of them are bright enough to know that almost every stock alternator isn't enough to supply a high current draw amplifier for your system on top of the basic functions that your car needs the alt for.

car manufacturers don't build cars with high output alts b/c they aren't concerned with maikng sure everyone that buys it can throw a high-powered system in the car with no problems. they put in an alt that has enough amps to completely supply every electronic function in the car with a little reserve.

and if you didn't like the comments that were posted about oyur setup then you should have titel it: "Compliment my new setup" not critique.
everyone has their own opinion and you should learn to respect it, it makes you a more well-rounded individual.

on a lighter note, that is a GREAT HU.:-)

If you rely on Circuit City or Best Buy, then you take your chance. I have seen and repaired their work. Also, if you look at what they sell, it really is not for competition anyway. most of their stuff is for the average consumer up to a mid line product.i have had customers come to me because their radios fell out, why because they were worried about your dollar and made kits out of a sheet of plastic instead of ordering the correct kits or harnesses. all about the dollar

by the way, before you spout off about capacitors and alternators, and the crap work people get done at chain stores like k-mart, best buy, and circuit city (who've never carried anything remotely high end in their existance) read these and educate yourself a bit.
knowledge is power.
