I have an Apline 9835 head unit and recently bought the alpine interface adapter. After installing it, and by pressing SOURCE i cant seem to get it to recognize my ipod. It is recognizing it as a "cd changer". Help?

That is correct, the 2004 models do not display "IPOD" like the 05 models. Make sure that your IPOD is fuly charged when initially hooking it up, if it isn't the head won't pick up the signal. The head will charge the IPOD once it has been recognized but not from a dead battery.
