this place has been known around my area to do pretty good installations. so this guy tells me today that a capicitor puts less strain on the alternator. I was like thats not what ive heard hes like im sorry youve been misinformed. lol |

lol some dambass at a local shop told me the same thing This is supposed to be the best place around too... I asked him if i needed an H O alternator for my 1000 watt Xtant and he said a BatCap would be better than an H O Alternator I dont trust ppl at the counter If i have a qeustion i go ask the ppl doing instalations in the garage |

Read up on capacitor. There's already a post on waht it can and can not do. FYI, they're all wrong. Nothing will replace HO alternator. |

What I found usually the guy at the counter isn't too informed, they are just for sales. Hawking the most expensive items is probably what they are trained to do. Most shops here don't to alternators so they gotta sell caps. One time a sales person was telling me how their Optima batteries were so great until he realized that they didn't have them in stock then he was like a capacitor will be just as good. |
