Does anybody have opinions on how far a tweeter should be away from the speaker. In my truck I have speakers in the dash and in the door, so where should i place the tweeters ?

They should be placed preferably higher but same distance from the listeners ear for best imaging...near the speakers themselves is good as well

tweeters should theoretically be placed as close to the mids as possible. however, with proper time alignment and the ilk, that is not always necessarily the case. there are a number of award winning setups w/the tweeters high in the a pillars and the mids low in the kickpanels. main thing is to audition the locations by listening to them all first before finalizing the install.
