BMR is the older model and the VR is the new one. I just got a brand new CrossFire VR1000D from www.woofersetc.com and i havent installed it yet but all i hear is great things about this amplifier.

read this - http://www.caraudiomag.com/specialfeatures/0202cae_amp/
Its actually 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm

500 x 1 @ 2 ohm

250 x 1 @ 4 ohm

tested 1332 x 1 @ 14.4 volts and like 1000 x 1 at 12 volts.
