I was thinking of a smallish amp with some CV components, since they offer the kind with the tweeter attached, but not coaxial, and would fit nicely in a 6.5" box. Are they any good?

There's a link to them. Their home audio stuff is much to be rivaled with based on SQ in comparison to their power, meaning for the power they have, they have good sound, but is their car stuff of that same quality?
