I just bought a JL Audio 12" W6 v2 d4 Subwoofer. I have an Phoenix Gold OCTANE R5.0:1 MonoBlock Amplifier will this amp be able to power my new sub. The amp is 500 watts at 2ohms and 250 watts at 4ohms

yes. wire it at 2ohms, and it will work perfectly.

Even though the subwoofer is 4 ohms I can still run the amp at 2 ohms

na its dual voice coil, so connect the voice coils in parallel and it will be a 2 ohm sub.
