Thread: Is PPI A600.2 enough for a set of comps and subwoofer? |

Hi,
I wanted to buy a good SQ amp which shiuld be good for CDT HD Comps and an 12 inch IDQ.
Will PPI A600 is good to run both.

PPI A600.2 is one of the best amps produced in the past. It will more than power your CDT comps, as well as your 12" IDQ. As long as you obey the minimum ohm requirement on the amp, you should be fine. Also, if you're planning to power all of them with one amp, then you will need non polarized capacitors for the comps, and crossover coil for the sub. |

Issac thanks for the reply.
This how I am planning to use PPI A600.2 :
1st channal to power CDT's which are 4 ohms speaker(speakers are going to be wired in Parallel for 2 ohm load)
2nd channel for IDQ dual 4-ohm voice coils (coils wired in parallel for 2 ohm load)
Will this work fine?

This is really helpful,
Does it also work for my comp MB Quart PCE213 and Sub 1 JL 10W3v2 D4 ??
Does both of comp and sub need to be at the same ohm ??
And in this case, I need Y connector for MB quart comp ???

Naras, PPI is a 2 channel amp, so you can't divide it up. To power both the component and sub, you will need to operate the amp in "tri" mode. What that means is, you connect channels 1 and 2 (left and right) to the components, and then take Left + from channel 1, and Right - from channel 2 and connect it to the sub.
You will need capacitors for the components and a coil for the sub.
Winn, the sub's ohm has to meet the amp's minimum requirement. For example, if in bridged mode, it's 4ohms, then that is what you will need. It can't be lower.
4ohms SVC or 2ohms DVC for a single sub will work. If you have 2, then 2 4ohms DVC or 2 2ohms DVC works. |

That should work, as long as you don't exceed 4ohms for the sub. PPI amp will only handle 4ohms bridged. |

Never mount the amp on sub box. It will cause amp failure over time. |
