i fitted a ministry of sound head unit 2day and it was on a ford fiesta mk1 and i had 4 wires 4 the speakers hooked them up fine then i had positive and a negative from the head unit and i hooked them up and the illumination i hooked up everythin was fine but i had 2 brown wires from the car wiring left and i dont knw where they go coz the cd player works but when you turn the head lights on the power goes on the head unit can anybody help!

It sounds as if you hooked up your ignition wire(red) to the illumination wire which only puts out power when the headlights are on. One of those brown wires might be the ignition.

Your unit still has memory, correct? i.e. clock keeping correct time, presets remain saved etc.?
