can 6.5 inch component speakers fit in the door of a 96 cavalier 2 door without any type of modification?

A little modification, but nothing major. I would use an air nibbler to cut the 4x6 speaker holes to fit the 6 1/2's, no big deal, should take you about ten minutes per side.
