For some reason the ignition wire coming off of my wire harness doesn't get any power. As of right now my after market CD player has only constant power, it does not turn ON/OFF with the car. I want to run a new ignition wire. Do I run one from the fuse box? If so how do I do that? Is there another way? I'm trying to be especially careful not to fry anything out in my Cadillac. Thanks for any help. |

You can grab a fuse tap from a car parts store and just run a wire off of that to the headunit. There are three types of taps and I like this type the most(the most basic):
The gold colored tab on the fuse is the tap, and you basically just hook up your wire to the male connector at the top. These are the other two:
This one is a bit nicer, but it protrudes more, therefore making it impractical to many applications.
The main flaw with this one: When the fuse blows, you have to get another of these hard to find fuses to replace it. I hope this helps! Sorry if I went on a tangent, it is what happens when you have too much time to play with and nothing to do... |
