hey guys I was wondering I have the Passport 8500 and I absolutely love it, I was wondering how the Solo S2 compares. I was looking to go wireless for my wife's car and was wondering how they stack up against eachother. |

James have you thought of converting the 8500 to cordless? All you need is a flat 12v rechargeable battery that'll stick to the bottom of the unit. I would've done that, had I not got busted by a radar detector car. They took it away from me, ba$tard$! I don't think the cordless models are good enough for everyday use.

Well not the way I make'em. It'll last much longer than AA/9v battery the cordless uses. You'd be surprised with some of these slim flat rechargeables. Much more power and longer lasting than standard batteries. |

Well yea cause it's not legal everywhere. The "foot soldier" cops will take it away from you, give you a ticket, then make you go to court for a trial. I think it's really stupid. Not like it's a dangerous weapon nor is it a drug. Just a gadget. |

I just ordered the x50 today so I cant wait to get it. I am gonna move the 8500 to my wife's car. Going from my jeep (that couldnt get out of its own way) to my a4 I look down and find myself speeding out of control so I though an upgrade was in need! lol my wife didnt see it that way but what are ya gonna do! lol |

How much did it cost you? Too bad it's illegal in Canada. |
