Hello,

I don't want to saturate these boards but a new thing was brought up.

On a previos post someone mentioned the decibel output of some amps. I think he said Alpines are like 89db while PPI and Orion are 100+db. I'm thinking about US Amps or Zapco, and I imagine these are right up there.

Are we talking about signal-noise ratio? Where exactly does one find such information online or in a manual?

The reason I ask is because I'm trying to find the loudest(SPL) amp out there, while not sacrificing SQ(I think what I want is called SQL)
I am using it to power some subs mostly for intense hip-hop/rap bass lines.

I'm looking at 1000watts RMS for whichever amp I get, but will the decibel rating make a difference for what I am looking for? I am aware that twice the wattage won't be twice as loud.
