So I'm about a week away from having all the money for my first system. I think Ive got everything down expect for the AMP. THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR ME. I'm getting a 15" X.X.X. in a sealed box around 2.25-2.5 Cubic ft. The Alpine MRD-M1005, The RF T10001BD ,Hifonics Brutus, & The PPl dcx 1500.1 all seem to be reasonable. What would u prefer and Y? Also.. will 1000 watts be enough or should I look higher. I basically need a good amp to power this thing. New not used. |

If you are going to get a class D amp, 1 chanil, you need to order the 2 ohm dvc virsion. With the 2 ohm dvc it can be wired to a 1 ohm load. My first pick would be the Rockford T1001BD, then the Hyfonic's bx1500D. |

get the dual 2 ohm coil sub. that's the standard version. wire coils in parallel for a 1 ohm load. get the hifonics brutus bd1500. that'll run 1 ohm stable and give you enough affordable power for that sub. while personally I'm not a huge hifonics fan, the amp is relatively cheap, and a lot of people love em. it also won't require you to pay $25 for a different coil setup on the sub since the amp is 1 ohm stable, and the amp has ample power for that single sub. you need to call RE to order teh sub, but they're moving to a larger facility right now so they are hard to reach.
