I am uncertain of something. my HU pushes 25w rms 50w max...if i were to hook up an amp that does 50wrms a channel, would it add to my HU power...making it 75wrms? Or would the amp over-ride the HU and push it's 50wrms independently? thanks for the help guys.

Your HU and external amp are 2 separate product. You can either use the HU's amp or the power amp.
The answer is no, it will not add, 25w or 50w.
Almost any amp is better than the one on HU.

Yeah I knew that...i just didn't want to buy an amp and expect the extra wattage from the HU to be added...glad i got it straightend out. thanks isaac.
