between the jl audio 1000/1 and the zapco reference 1000, which of these amps would be better, more quality. please let me know

That's a tough one. They're both great amps. I'd go with Zapco cause it's class AB.
If you don't have HO alternator, then JL 1000/1 will be a better fit.

More quality goes to the Zapco. Main benefit of the JL is it's accomodation of different impedances and less current draw. If you plan a 2 ohm load, get the Zapco. Both can draw more current than most if not all stock alternators can provide.

will you really notice the sound quality improvement between these two amps since it's powering a sub? also the zapco reference is zapco's lower line of amps and would still be better than jl audio, wow.
