HI I am hoping somebody can tell me if it is worth buying an amp. I have a 2000 Expedition with:
Deck: Alpine 9827
18W RMS X 4 (Peak 50W X 4)

Speakers:
4 Alpine SPS 570A 40W RMS (Peak 200W)

I am wondering if an amp will make a significant difference ( Ie is it worth spending the money) and if so what size?

I am thinking about the following amps:
Alpine MRP F240 (40W RMS X 4 at 4 ohms)
Rockford Fosgate P4004 (50W RMS X 4 at 4 ohms)
JL Audio e4300 (45W RMS X 4 at 4 ohms)

Will the sound benefit be worth the money? Will I be able to get decent sound with thi setup without adding a sub? Any other amps I should consider?

Thank you in advance for the help.

If those were your only 3 choices, I'd go with JL first, then RF, and Alpine last.
It will make enough difference in sound quality over stock/HU power. All of the amps you mentioned above are overrated. If you want something that's great for your money, take a look at PPI PC/PCX series. Some of them are going for Pyramid/Sony's price level.
A good am for your system and future would be an amp that's 75w rms x 4 @ 4ohms.
