hi,
Im new to the forum, so here goes i have a pioneer gm-x862 760 watt bridged amp or 250watt max stereo and 2 rockford fosgate RF-Z3410 150 watt rms, 400 watt max,4 or 8 ohm independance and i was wondering if i can wire my subs in series? or will i damage my amp and subs, mostly my biggest question do the subs share the power or do they just try and run at what the amp is putting out(burning out the subs and amp eventually) im new to the sub world and have no idea what 2,4,8 ohm independace is either so i thought i would ask before i wire my subs up this way |

with a bridged amp you can run the subs in series for an 8 Ohm load.
the amp will see half of that load, which is 4 Ohms, so what you want to do is take the 4 Ohm bridged rating for the amp's output, and divide that by two.
that'll be the power out at 8 Ohms.
then divide that by 2 again, and you have the power each sub will get.
you may just want to get a monoblock sub amp from Avionixx or JBL.

so what your saying that each sub will get 190 watts rms or at peak power or is the 380 what each sub will get at a peak power

don't use max ratings.
what is the RMS rating on teh amplifier @ 4 Ohms bridged?
knowing that, or the RMS rating x 2 @ 2 or 4 Ohms, I can tell you what each sub will get
