I've noticed that when I turn my amplifier's gain up too much, it causes my system to do a huge bass drop which is i'm sure cannot be healthy for the sub so I usually quickly turn down the bass by remote and puy my gain back to it's normal setting.

I'm just wondering, why does it do that?
