i have a DMM and an amp-clamp(the amp-clamp doesnt work anymore though, i think), but i have been thinking about getting an oscilloscope. you know...just for sh!ts and giggles. anyways, i went on ebay a minute ago and found oscilloscopes really cheap. (i was figuring that most of them are prolly crap) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26%26item%3D7500885752&ssPageName= STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26%26item%3D7500917001&ssPageName= STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26%26item%3D7501305988&ssPageName= STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26%26item%3D3880678062&ssPageName= STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26%26item%3D5565670936&ssPageName= STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26%26item%3D7501114668&ssPageName= STRK:MEWA:IT i was mainly looking at the last one (hewlett packard) or the B&K scope...but i dont know much about oscilloscopes. i just wanna get one to mess around with. which of those scopes would yall get if you were getting one??? |

Didn't see any of the links working. Anyway, either of those will work (HP or B&K), but IMO Tektronix makes the best scope if you can find one for a reasonable price. |

Same here, none of the links worked. For Oscilloscope, look for Dual trace, 20MHz - 100MHz. |

It still doesn't work for me. If you want something to play with, get the 20MHz dual trace model. I saw one for $40. That's the price of a normal DMM!

Marshall you should've posted the Item number from eBay. Much easier to search. The HP 54501A isn't bad at all for $1. It comes with everything you need to experiment. You won't need anything greater than 100Mhz for working with audio equipments. In fact lot of the old shops still use 20Mhz. Stay away from auctions that do not include probes and accessories. They will cost you almost as much as the unit itself.
