I hooked up all the wired to my amp and when i turn the car on the amp goes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off. The power nor the protect light comes on so i dont know what the problem is. I checked the power and ground and i dont think its the remote

If you have a DMM, then measure the voltage across the power wires. See if you get 12v - 13.8v. Next measure the voltage on the remote wire. There has to be at least 12v there.
Take your remote wire on the amp and touch the pos terminal. It should cause the amp to power up. If it shuts down after 2 seconds, then you have an amp problem. If not, then a remote wire problem.
