Alright i have two kicker l7 12's and am planning to get two boss riot 1500d's.. how is this amp? also my friend told me that i might need an altanator because ill be pusing 1500watts rms. how many dbs is that? if i do get an altanator now many amps should i gett? thanks a lot KAM |

you could do better as far as amps go, it depends on what kind of car you have for the alternator question |

yea but wouldint i get the same strenght in bass using ne other amp that cost more? i have a 1995 bmw 325is
i mean 200 bux for an amp that gives 800rms
still gotta sound as good as a 400 dollar name brand amp |

kam,
i have messed w/ that boss amp before. it doesnt put out anywhere near 1500wrms. prolly more like 600-700w at 1ohm.
all "watts" are not created equal. that boss amp will put out a dirty signal, and it would not sound as good as other amps.
i put that same amp on my old L5 12" just to hear it...then i put a jbl bp600.1 on the same sub in the same box. you could hear the difference, it was like night and day. (and the bp600.1 is only a mid-level or maybe a little better than mid-level amp)
for $200 you could do better than that boss r1500d. jbl bp1200.1's go for ~$225 on ebay all the time and they will really give you 1200wrms+. and you could get a kicker kx1200.1 on ebay for about $400.
you really cant tell how loud a car is with out getting it metered.
