I just purchased an alphasonik 5 channel amplifier to complete my system. After buying the amp I realized that the subs I am using (Rockford Punch 10's) are rated at 4 ohms only. I want to run them both on the 5th channel of my amp at 2 ohm to get the most rms. Is this a possible senario. Can I even run the two subs together on the same channel at 4 ohms. The rest of my 4 channels are going to run my 4 Focal polyglass 6 1/2 component door speakers and tweets. I will run the door speakers at 4 ohms because the rms is around 75 watts rms per channel. I just want good clean sound with ample bass. nuthin major. Is alphasonik a good amp for this? Also, I have a clarion deck in right now and it has a 4 volt pre out. Will I be able to tell the difference in sound quality and loudness by adding the amp. Thanks, the BEGINNER!!! |

you have an amp with a 5th, class D mono output for subs.
you have two single-coil 4 ohm subs.
wire both subs in parallel to the 5th channel.
problem solved.
should work wonderfully.
